Down Time for Parents

Hi All-

It's 11:00 p.m. now, and this is what we call 'down-time'. The time that we put our baby to bed, until she wakes up tomorrow morning around 8:00 a.m.

I hope that by this time at night, you still have enough energy to do something fun or just relax on the couch.

Now, I am writing this blog hoping to help out other new parents plan for their new arrival. My wife is passed out on the couch, and I'm still up typing this blog.

Once you have a child, down-time will be one of the most important times of your day. After caring for your child, hour by hour, down-time will help clear your mind, and help you recharge until the following day.

DT is especially important if you have a spouse. When DT occurs, you and your spouse can finally cuddle and appreciate each other again. It kind of seems funny, but DT or quiet time brings back memories of when my wife was pregnant with our daughter.

Good Luck and we'll talk more on Down Time..

John/Daddy
